Do you ever feel so frustrated that you want to defenestrate your PC? If so, you'll appreciate these Microsoft Spoof Images.

Does anyone still use that vast bulk of a programming language, PL/I? Probably not, but I still find something rather satisfying about the following "How to Shoot Yourself In the Foot with PL/I" joke.

Readers will probably know, by the time they see this, that Dobbs Code Talk has new blogging software. I thought I'd test it by posting an exciting new product-improvement announcement that I found courtesy of Wilson WindowWare: Microsoft Announces Improved BSOD.

That is one of the error messages emitted by the Macintosh Programmer's Workshop C compiler. So are:

This label is the target of a goto from outside of the block containing this label AND this block has an automatic variable with an initializer AND your window wasn't wide enough to read this whole error message
and:
You can't modify a constant, float upstream, win an argument with the IRS, or satisfy this compiler
