- MM specifications state the assumptions governing a model's
behaviour. All the equations are clearly visible from the specification.
Data values can also be specified: as far as MM is concerned, these
are just trivial equations.
- MM programs can contain comments, providing --- unlike conventional
spreadsheets --- a natural place to put documentation.
- One could have something like the Javadoc
tool. This would take an MM program and generate HTML documentation
from it, with hyperlinks from each documentation section to the
other sections where variables are used or set. This would provide
the user with an overview of the entire model. On Microsoft systems,
the documentation pages could be linked to ActiveX controls containing
the target spreadsheets.
